ABOUT THE LECTURE CLASS

Practical Self Defense for Healthcare Occupations

BY KACI JONES, CEO

"Our mission is to raise awareness of predatory behaviors targeting healthcare and service industries, utilizing real-life case studies to illustrate reported crimes. We aim to empower professionals by advocating for the establishment and enforcement of clear professional boundaries. Additionally, we provide tailored self-defense training within a safe environment, equipping individuals with practical tactics designed for industry-specific self-protection."

Learning Objectives

Over the course of two intensive days, this class delves into real-life assaults experienced by providers during their professional duties. We explore the intricate psychology of predators, identifying the subtle signs of grooming behavior. Participants learn essential skills in setting and upholding boundaries, as well as effective strategies for responding when clients attempt to push those boundaries. Moreover, we emphasize the importance of reporting such incidents and maintaining thorough documentation.

On the third day (currently waitlist only, click here to join), students convene with our self-defense instructor and local law enforcement volunteers. Building upon the insights from the preceding two days, we engage in practical exercises focusing on industry-specific self-defense tactics. Examples include scenarios where a client may attempt to ambush from behind a door, assault while on the table, or follow the therapist to their vehicle.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will gain comprehensive knowledge of predatory behavior, enabling them to recognize warning signs and safeguard themselves in various settings such as clinics, homes, and hotel rooms. Our objective is to instill a sense of empowerment in our students, fostering confidence in their instincts and enhancing their ability to screen clients effectively. By equipping them with strategies to thwart opportunistic predators, we aim to ensure that students are well-prepared to respond to and report all instances of inappropriate behavior.
